Smart Beginnings HPG receives grant from VECF


October 29, 2014 – What a terrific event held at Hopewell High School, highlighting their on-site CDA (Child Development Associate) program that prepares students for careers in high-quality early education. This unique program was facilitated by Smart Beginnings Hopewell Prince George through strong collaboration and support from John Tyler Community College, the John Randolph Foundation, and Hopewell Public Schools. At this event, Smart Beginnings Hopewell Prince George received a grant from the Virginia Early Childhood Foundation to continue their public-private school readiness efforts. Smart Beginnings Leadership Council members and community leaders were on hand to receive the grant award, including Delegate Riley Ingram, Delegate Rosalyn Dance, Hopewell School Superintendent John Fahey, and VECF Board member Darla Edwards.
